At the Indian Premier League, 2023 auction in Kochi, England’s all-rounder Sam Curran was bought for a huge Rs 18.5 crore, making him the most expensive player ever to be bought in IPL history. At Rs 8.25 crore, Mayank Agarwal was the most expensive Indian buy. At Rs 6 crore, Shivam Mavi was the most expensive Indian buy without a cap. 1. Sam Curran – Punjab Kings (Rs 18.5 crore)
Sam Curran, an English all-rounder, was bought by Punjab Kings for a huge Rs 18.5 crore. This made him the most expensive player ever bought in the IPL. Curran won Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament at the T20 World Cup in 2022. This made him more popular at the auction.
2. Cameron Green – Mumbai Indians (Rs 17.5 crore)
Cameron Green, an all-rounder from Australia, was signed by Mumbai Indians for Rs 17.5 crore. In the T20I series in India last year, Green was one of the best players. He scored 118 runs, including two half-centuries, at a strike rate of 214.54.
3. Ben Stokes – Chennai Super Kings (Rs 16.25 crore)
When Chennai Super Kings spent Rs 16.25 crore to sign Ben Stokes, he became the third most expensive player to sign at the auction. In 43 IPL games, the English all-rounder has a batting average of 25.56 and a strike rate of 134.50.
4. Nicholas Pooran-Luton Super Giants (Rs 16 crore)
Nicholas Pooran, a wicketkeeper and batsman, signed a contract with Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 16 crore. This made him the West Indian who was sold at an IPL auction for the most money. Last year, Pooran played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 14 games, he scored 306 runs, including two half-centuries.
5. Harry Brook – Sunrisers Hyderabad (Rs 13.25 crore)
The Sunrisers Hyderabad paid Rs 13.5 crore to buy Harry Brook, an English batsman. This will be Brook’s first season in the IPL. In a T20I series against Pakistan, he scored 238 runs at a strike rate of 163.01.
6. Mayank Agarwal – Sunrisers Hyderabad (Rs 8.25 crore)
SRH also spent a lot of money on Mayank Agarwal, which cost Rs 8.25 crore. The Punjab Kings, for whom Agarwal had played since 2018 and led the team in 2022, let him go. Agarwal has scored 2,331 runs at a strike rate of 134.51 in 113 IPL games.
7. Shivam Mavi – Gujarat Titans (Rs 6 crore)
The 2022 champion Gujarat Titans paid Rs 6 crore for fast bowler Shivam Mavi, who has never played for his country. Mavi has played 32 games for Kolkata Knight Riders since making his IPL debut in 2018. He has taken 30 wickets at an economy rate of 8.71.
8. Jason Holder, Rajasthan Royals ($5.75 million).
The Rajasthan Royals paid Rs 5.75 crore to get Jason Holder, an all-rounder from the West Indies. Holder was sold to LSG for Rs 8.75 crore at the 2022 auction. Holder has scored 247 runs and taken 49 wickets in 38 IPL games.

9. Mukesh Kumar – Delhi Capitals (Rs 5.5 crore)
Mukesh Kumar, a fast bowler from Bengal, was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 5.5 crore. Mukesh was called up by India for the first time in October for the ODIs against South Africa. In 2015, the fast bowler rose to fame when, in his first Ranji Trophy match for Bengal, he took 20 wickets in 5 games.
10. Heinrich Klaasen – Sunrisers Hyderabad (Rs 5.25 crore)
The last player on the list is Heinrich Klaasen, who is from South Africa and was bought by SRH for Rs 5.25 crore. Klaasen has already played in the IPL twice, in 2018 and 2019. In those two years, he scored 66 runs in seven games.
